Component recovery
A sustainable approach!
This process is becoming increasingly important as e-waste continues to accumulate and the demand for sustainable solutions in the electronics industry grows.

Our component recovery service
Although considered a recent practice, component reclamation provides a solution to component shortages and the e-waste crisis. At Retronix Europe, we’ve been specializing in the recovery and refurbishment of PCB components for over 30 years.
We have developed our recovery service in response to the evolution of PCBs and components, which have become smaller and more complex over time. IPC-9592 STD compliant, our state-of-the-art technology, including laser reblasting, enables components to be recovered and refurbished safely and efficiently.
Component recovery solves many problems for our customers and the industry, such as obsolescence, long delivery times, electronic waste and component shortages. It also saves our customers money by avoiding the need to throw away millions of euros worth of new, high-value components simply because they are fitted to faulty or obsolete printed circuit boards.
The need
to recover
components
Shortages
The electronic components industry, particularly for multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) and semiconductors, has been severely affected by shortages, rising prices and longer delivery times. This situation was exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the automotive and industrial sectors particularly hard hit. Faced with these challenges, component recovery has emerged as a crucial solution to enable industries to cope effectively with shortages. By recovering valuable components and reusing them, companies can reduce their dependence on new resources, save money and relieve pressure on the supply chain. This approach not only mitigates the effects of scarcity, but also promotes sustainable practices by minimizing waste and maximizing resource utilization.
Supply chain
By recovering and reusing electronic components, companies can reduce their dependence on new components, whose availability and price fluctuations are unpredictable. By avoiding dependence on unknown sources for these components, companies can establish a stable supply of essential parts, even in times of shortage. This enables uninterrupted production and minimizes the impact of supply chain disruptions, ensuring consistent operations and mitigating potential risks.
E-waste / obsolete card
The exponential growth of electronic waste (e-waste) represents a major environmental challenge, with millions of tonnes of electronic devices being discarded every year. However, by engaging in the recovery and reuse of electronic components, the overall volume of e-waste can be significantly reduced. Reusing components for use in new products eliminates the need to throw away entire devices, contributing to a sustainable approach that minimizes the impact of e-waste on the environment.
